Fluffy TailA 13 x 19 inch photograph suitable for framing.Price: 29.00About a week old, this newborn has yet to shed his fluffy tail and mane. He and his Mom are enjoying a lazy, sunny day on Assateague Island. Both are from the northern herd of the Chincoteague wild ponies who live on the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. The ponies are rounded up three times a year by the equally famous Salt Water Cowboys and taken for a medical checkup by their “doc.” Except for a few “buybacks” the foals are auctioned off each July at Pony Penning and the income goes to support the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Department which owns the ponies. The photo was taken by a student staff member of www.wildponytales.info from the tour bus operated by the Chincoteague Natural History Association.
