Tonight at 8 pm, The Chincoteague Island Theatre Company presents the 3rd Thursday Theatre with a staged reading of “Carry Me Back to West Virginia.” Written by Lawrence Dukore and directed by Lexi Hubb, “Carry Me Back to West Virginia” tells the story of the downfall of a coal-mining town in West Virginia after its only bridge to the coal mine, the town’s only industry, collapses. The performance will take place at the Chincoteague Cultural Alliance’s Headquarters, located at 6309 Church Street on Chincoteague Island, Virginia.
The doors open at 7:30 pm, with the show beginning at 8 pm. A $5 donation is recommended and appreciated at the door.
Featuring the talents of Justin Aruck, Cheryl Aylor, Maria Burns, Byrd Donaldson, Joshua Jacobson, Christopher Jestin and David Johnson, this sounds like a most entertaining evening. However, this play contains mature language and themes; and, henceforth, may not be suitable for all audiences.
